ไกลตา ไกลใจ (Out of Sight, Out of Mind)
Is an art project that was carried by Indonesian duo artists, Muhammad Vilhamy and Yosefa Aulia in
residency program held by Tentacles x Yet Space, Bangkok. The project is based on the idea of
creating a single moment in which photography became the most appropriate medium to achieve a
moment that connects the time, place, and people around the neighborhood.
As we observe the people who live and work around Charansanitwong Soi 11 , we see how people
with different background of race and culture actually have a similarity: the ability to survive
influenced by social interaction based on the exchange value of the trade. As newcomers who come
from a very communal culture, this knowledge is quite exciting for us, because it seems such
interactions were seen happen unnaturally.
In an attempt to know better, we create this project is an experiment to test the extent to which our
language barrier and our different habits can be dissolved through the momentum that we
deliberately created by using the photography as a medium. Therefore, we hope through this project
we are able to interrupt the patterns of social interaction that exists around Charansanitwong Soi 11.

Yosefa Aulia
Live and work in Bandung, Indonesia, Yosefa apparently earned her Bachelor of Fine Artdegree majoring Sculpture in Institut Teknologi Bandung in 2014. She tends to work usingvariable medium, as her interest in the patterns of both personal and interpersonalinteraction, the phenomenon of urban culture, public and private space and the certain limitsof an ideology, events and everyday objects also its ritual affect her preference of mediumshe working with. The texts Yosefa satire is often used as a visual language that dominatedher two-dimensional works and installations.
Muhammad Vilhamy, (b. Surabaya, November 7th, 1990)
Lives and works in Bandung. He completed his Bachelor of Arts degree at Institut TeknologiBandung’s Printmaking Art Studio, with a final project titled “The Journey OfUnderstanding, The Relationship Between Me And My Mother”.He completed his final project with guidance from Aminudin TH Siregar and Tisna Sanjaya as supervisors.
