Catherine Ellis (b.1990, Auckland) lives and works in Auckland, Aotearoa New Zealand. Catherine graduated with a Masters of Visual Arts from AUT University in 2013. Since 2011, she has developed an experimental, multi-disciplinary practice working in installations and performance both solo and collaboratively. Catherine is interested in models of collaboration, working in film, music, theatre, artists and education for sharing / learning / making together. Alongside these projects, Catherine has a prolific drawing practice. She creates poetic comic illustrations communicating emotions and mental spaces, which represent, and are influenced by, interior spaces and music. She is interested in working with and supporting project spaces, in particular for their audience accessibility and space for experimentation.
