Vatcharapong observes iconic figures in popular media, turns them into wire sculptures that look almost like doodles, then posits them in contexts of urban banal reality. The results are humorous, yet challenging combinations of arts and everyday life.

Vatcharapong Tungpongpiboon (b.1989) graduated with a B.A. in Fine Arts from Bangkok University. This solo exhibition at Tentacles Gallery is his first. He currently lives and works in Saraburee and Bangkok, where he co-manage “Yet Space” – an artist run alternative art space he co-founded.
